The Da Vinci College has an important social responsibility. We inspire students the best they can be themselves and take responsibility for their learning. The goal is that students develop a positive and critical citizens.

The learning issues of our participants and the wishes of our partners in business are the basis for education. The learning has to be closely related to the professional and social realities. That makes our education modern and innovative. The professional guidance, both within a challenging and safe learning environment, is helping students to grow into a promising position in the labour market or further education.

Internationalization has several interfaces:

  • Mobility: learning in a context rich environment abroad: for both students and teachers, for both outgoing and incoming students. Da Vinci College sees mobility as a didactic tool in vocational education, where professional skills, foreign languages and an international context meet. International projects, both physical and virtual, are important activities.
  • Employers see it as an important added value when employees have international experience. Internationalization contributes to a higher level language in modern foreign languages (English / Spanish / German). Work experience outside the Netherlands offers the opportunity to acquire skills that offer added value in the labour market. The competencies are defined in international documents recognized as the Europass, Europass CV and the Europass Language Passport.
  • Citizenship and Interculturalism: the Citizenship module provides excellent opportunities to be involved in international projects. This may be done by organizing an international workplacement and by "internationalization@ home". Projects around Fair Trade, sustainability, environment, etc. provide a good opportunity working for an international perspective to investigate and initiate actions.
  • Community Involvement: internationalization provides a rich context to participate in development projects.
The Da Vinci is working on these issues with partner schools and organizations abroad and with the use of funds as Leonardo.
